Did you know…

These are some of the needs that are met by the generous offerings you make to St. Andrew’s United Church.

We made 1,800 sandwiches in 2013 for First United Church at Hastings and Main Str. Vancouver. Sandwich makers meet once a month and continue to make sandwiches. Volunteers and supplies are welcome.

We have hosted the Shelter Program in the Tri-Cities from 2007-present. We will host again during the 2014-15 seasons. We partner with Hope for Freedom Society in this program which was initiated by the Tri-Cities Homelessness and Housing Task Group.
During the 2013-14 Shelter Program we hosted in March:

We will host the shelter in November 2014. Volunteers and donations of food and money are welcome.

Each Christmas we sponsor families in need from SHARE Christmas hampers.

About 45 people attend Sunday Worship each week. This is a time to “catch your breath,” reflect on your life and the world through music, prayer, and Christian scripture. A quote about attending worship, “I go to worship weekly because it helps me slow down, reflect, and gain perspective…it’s like going to the gym, I feel better.”

About 130 people attend 12 Steps programs like AA and NA each week.

About 20 people attend the ancient spiritual practice of Centering Prayer each week. People say Centering Prayer helps them to live a “much calmer and richer life…even though there is still stress in life.”

Healing Pathway offered sessions at the church, in homes, and in hospital a total of 175 times in 2013. Healing Pathway continues to offer treatments and support training of new practitioners.

We offer a variety of learning opportunities during the year, including “Exploring Your Faith,” and daily spiritual practices posted on our web site www.sauc.ca

Tax receipts are issued for donations of $20.00 and up. Funding of St. Andrew’s faith community is done by donations made directly to our church at 2318 St. Johns St, Port Moody, V3H 2A9
